The next leadership programme for Aspiring Chief Executives at Cass Centre for Charity Effectiveness (Cass CCE) designed specifically for senior leaders in the charity and nonprofit sectors considering becoming chief executives begins on November 2nd.
The five-day programme will equip future chief executives with the range of skills, knowledge, behaviours and self-awareness they need to take the next step in their careers, and provide the opportunity for them to build a peer support network for their future.
The focus is on self-reflection, action learning, and continuing professional development, ensuring sustainable learning well beyond the life of the programme.
The programme is led by James Barrett, former Chief Executive of The HIV Project, and is supported by George Levvy, former Chief Executive of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Other course tutors include Ian Joseph, Managing Director of Russam GMS, a specialist recruitment agency, and sector experts Caroline Copeman, Ian Lawson and Mark Salway.

“Participants will be able to build their leadership toolkit, wisdom and presence, to maximise their potential as a future chief executive and it’s a must-attend course for anyone considering the step up to the chief executive position.”
The programme uses a mix of expert presentations, peer coaching and genuine case studies to ensure the content is current and grounded in the practical realities of nonprofit leadership and provide inspiration from those already in the role.
The five-day programme is divided into two intensive two-day modules – Appraising the role of Chief Executive on 2nd and 3rd November and Aligning your Organisation Effectively on 7th and 8th December 2017– with a final follow-up one-day module – Moving Ahead on 12th January 2017.
There are also evening units and social events, with options for further reading and inter-module activities.
Participants will have individual executive coaching and receive 360-degree feedback using the recognised Outstanding Leadership competencies framework to interpret their profile and kick start their personal development plan towards becoming a chief executive.
The cost of the programme is £1,745 to cover all five days, including the one-to-one executive coaching, 360-degree feedback, the welcome dinner and the drinks reception. This does not include overnight accommodation.
