We define philanthropy as the giving of resources in an engaged and strategic way for maximum impact and in a tax efficient manner. It can include the giving of money, assets, time, talent, voice and one’s social capital. We believe in the power of philanthropy as a great social connector and the source of many great opportunities.

Charity Chooser

This resource is designed to provide a list of charitable organisations working to benefit the inhabitants of Greater London. The list below features organisations that have received a grant from the City of London Corporation’s charity, City Bridge Trust for a specific project. Each organisation funded by City Bridge Trust goes through a rigorous assessment process, which includes a visit from one of the Trust’s grants officers and a careful examination of its financial position. The final decision regarding each application for funding is made by the City Bridge Trust Committee. This comprises Members of the City of London Corporation, which is the sole trustee of City Bridge Trust. To find out more about the application process, please visit City Bridge Trust.

We hope that this database will provide a way for individual donors or networks, who are inspired to give, to find and connect with charitable organisations working in London. The list can be filtered based on type of organisation, programme area and location. The list will be updated periodically to reflect the latest grants given by City Bridge Trust.

Please note: Organisations listed on this database have not been verified or checked by and are in no way affiliated with City Philanthropy. It is recommended that each donor researches charities thoroughly before making any donation or commitment.
